Vatican City

With just 880 people Vatican City is one of the smallest, religious and most visited city cum state in Rome. This is a place where you can find some of the best museums and beautiful churches of the world. Even though Vatican City is a separate country it is completely surrounded by Rome. Vatican City is also the main center to several Roman Catholics that come to this place every year. First building you can come across when you enter Vatican City is the famous Michelangelo, St Peter’s Basilica. After you reach its roof you can visit the in house museum where you can see the grotto where John Paul II and St Peter and few other Popes are being buried. The Baldequino near the main altar constructed with bronze and looted from the Pantheons is one of the most interesting examples of the ancient baroque design.
